About Me

I am originally from Brazil, and have moved a lot in my life, collecting experiences and insight along the way. While in Brazil I studied to be a dentist, but as I got deeper into my studies, I found that I was not fulfilled. When I was 21 I moved to Portland, Oregon, in the United States. There, I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring on Illustration and Design, and was awarded the William Givler Thesis award for my graduation year.
I lived in the States for 11 years, mostly in Portland, Oregon, but also Camas, San Francisco and New York. I even lived in Portugal for a short while. When I came to Canada in 2006 to visit my husband's family, I fell in love with the country and its people. I knew I had found my forever home. We have been living here since 2007; during the past few years, we have owned a small tailoring shop as well as a small publishing house. I returned to continue my studies in 2013, and on January 2015, I graduated with a Bachelor in Education focusing on High School students. This program allows me to be a K-12 teacher. I was awarded the Maxwell A. Cameron Memorial Award for my efforts
Besides doing art, I also enjoy teaching Arts, Biology, Information Technology, Pottery and English.
After I graduated, sold the tailoring shop and closed the publishing house, I found myself with quite a bit of free time in between teaching times, which I now dedicate to freelancing as an artist, illustrator and designer. If you are interested in a quote for a project, please contact me by visiting the contact page here.
I hope you enjoy my portfolio, and have a wonderful day!
